What do you associate Sweden with? The battle of Poltava, the ABBA group, Swedish family or Swedish wall? And it is also the birthplace of Anna Johansson, a physician who has made a real revolution in nutrition, after inventing such a diet as the "6 petal diet".
The essence of the diet
You can immediately calm down, you not only need to eat six petals a day, the diet is more varied and in principle does not include eating flowers. Although Dr. Johansson promises that in a week on her diet you can lose 5 kg, which seems like an incredible result.
A petal is a day of the diet where you can only eat a certain amount of one type of food. The order of days is important so you can even draw yourself a flower with six petals, write on each menu and a serial number and carefully follow the recommendations.
By the way, this is the convenience of this diet. No need to guess what to eat. You obviously know your diet for the coming days.
This is to some extent a mono-diet, but the body does not have time to get used to one type of food and switch to an energy-saving state. In addition, studies have shown that mono-diets lasting less than a day are the most effective at burning fat.
Results in this diet are achieved through protein-carbohydrate exchange and a reduction in the number of calories consumed. You eat one type of food every day and do not mix proteins with carbohydrates, allowing you to break down fats more efficiently.
How to cook
Food can be cooked, stewed, baked or steamed, but it is strictly forbidden to fry or add oil. In addition, the author proposes to limit coffee consumption to 1-2 small cups a day. Of course without sugar. In her opinion, it is better to drink tea or mineral water without gas in an amount of at least 1, 5 liters a day. But you should under no circumstances drink liquid food, only 30 minutes before a meal or an hour after.
And so that the feeling of hunger does not defeat you, divide all the food into 4-5 receptions. And you do not have to stick to fixed intervals. Wanted to eat? Went and ate some. Now, or drink green tea.
You can stick to the diet for two weeks in a row. But do not forget to take a break of at least two weeks before the next attempt.
With all this, the diet is contraindicated:
- Pregnant;
- breastfeeding mothers;
- With diseases of the liver, kidneys, pancreas, heart, endocrine system (especially diabetes);
- with anemia;
- With infections or immediately after an illness;
- Exacerbation of any chronic disease.
And yet, even if this is not a direct contraindication, it will be difficult for you to follow such a diet if you work out. Therefore, it is better to save it for vacation.
Flower diet - a petal every day
And now let's take a closer look at what this Swedish lady came up with.
first petal
On the first day, it is suggested to eat only fish, but not more than 500 grams. This, of course, should not be eaten at once, but spread throughout the day. Of these 500 grams you can make a few chops, bake fish in the oven or on the grill, cook stews and even fish soup, which will consist of water, spices and fish.
An example menu might look like this:

seventh petal
No, this is not an optical illusion. And yes, you read the name of the diet right. There are really six petals and you have to switch between six types of diets, but there is one such important thing as getting out of the diet. The day you realize you can do anything.
The most important thing on this day is not to relax so much that you get back half of what you lost. Someone recommends a gradual exit and advises at the moment to eat only the foods that you ate on a diet, just a little bit to increase their portions.
Proponents of radical methods say the easy way is not for us, and suggest spending the seventh day exclusively on the water. Which of these two options do you like best - choose for yourself.
Of course, you can just wave your hand and plunge into the world of delicious cakes again.
Why diet is good
Will this diet help you if you decide to lose weight? Definitely yes, the Swedes did their best. If you try, you will lose 0, 6 - 0, 9 kg per day.
Can you survive it without collapse? Also a positive answer. The diet is quite simple and allows you to eat enough not to look longing and nostalgic on a piece of bread.
But despite all its effectiveness, "6 petals" still does not solve the problem of your future diet. Six days of the diet will go by and you will return to your usual diet again and it will already return the lost pounds to you. So even if you are on this diet, it is best to see it as an opportunity to take a step towards a healthier future.
